Dynamic Transfer Mechanism

Pro Engineering and Manufacturing recently solved a problem for one of their customers that many companies in the beverage industry face, that is, how to transfer bottles or cans from a ninety degree conveyor into a pasteurizer, cooler, warmer or similar machine without having the containers get caught in a dead zone where they remain on the fingerplates outside of the in-feed of the machine. Similarly, the problem can exist downstream at the discharge of the machine when transferring the containers from the machine to a ninety-degree conveyor.

The experts at Pro designed, manufactured and installed a retro-fit solution which replaced the existing fingerplates on the customer’s tunnel cooler with a dynamic transfer mechanism that is one hundred percent effective in eliminating the problem of the customer’s bottles remaining outside of the in-feed of the machine.

The customer is very pleased, as it freed up a full-time operator who had been pushing bottles into the machine. This solution is critical to the customer’s quality levels because the upstream process is a hot fill into a PET bottle. What this means is that any bottles that are caught in the dead zone outside the in-feed of the cooler will rapidly deform due to the heat of the product inside the bottle.
